Self-guided tour – climbing the tower

The South Tower is affectionately called ‘Steffl’ by the Viennese and is one of Vienna’s main landmarks. 343 steps lead you up to the ‘Türmerstube’, from where you will enjoy a wonderful view over the entire city.
You may only ascend the South Tower on foot.
For guests in average physical condition, climbing the tower takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
Tour participants are kindly asked to wear appropriate clothing and to behave in an appropriate manner.
Instructions for using the online ticket:
Please note that children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult or participate in a guided tour when viewing the South Tower.
The tickets are not bound to the date of purchase but can only be redeemed once.
When you present your online ticket to the main ticket office in St. Stephen's Cathedral, you will receive your admission ticket for the tower ascent.
